Conclusion on Nisan 1 ( the first sacred month of the calendar) in 33 C.E.

Both viiews confirm that Nisan 1 in 33 B.C.E. began at evening on March 20th on the astronomers extended Julian calendar.  Pictures produced by Murrell Selden with the use of Stellarium .org. On this sort of calendar, the just visible new moon is the guide.  On March 20,it would not have  been seen in the daytime, until the sun had set.  Then it would have been seen briefly.

Light pollution would have prevented it from being seen, but it was seen!   The moon rose after the sun on the next morning, and it may have been seen on that day too.

Here is a picture explaining the Sign of Jonah.
